Australian Open is one of the four Grand Slams of the tennis world held every at the start of every year. It is the biggest platform for professionals to show their game. Currently marked as the 3 best players in the world, Roger is tough competition to Djokovic. This 38-year man has a fresh start from New York and has shut everyone’s mouth by winning the Australian Open twice in a row. After winning the Hopman Cup by his excellent performance, he became one of the most likable players to win the Australian Open.
3. Rafael Nadal
Last year after a hamstring injury, it was a surprise to see Rafael back in the competition. He is a 17 times Grand Slam Champion, which makes him fit to be in the favourites list of the Australian Open. It is most likely that he is the fiercest of all competitors of the tournament. He has struggled a lot many times and is ranked as World’s No. 1 singles tennis Champion for the fifth time.
4. Serena Williams
In the women division, Williams is the most suitable favourite candidate to win the Australian Open. She defeated her sister Venus in 2017. But after the birth of her daughter, she didn’t participate in the event last year. She has won 23 major titles, the highest in both the men’s and women’s division. She has been marked ranked world no. 1, eight times between 2002 to 2017.
5. Alexander Zverev
Alexander Zverev is the youngest and the favourite player of the Australian Open. Currently ranked 4th in the world, this young blood has won 10 titles. Yet he has to show his potential specifically at the Grand Slam to reach the Quater Finals. His biggest win was the ATP Masters where he defeated Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in a row. If he wins the tournament, he is the best candidate to reach the Big Fours.
