UEFA champions league has returned after Group stage with a blast and some old rivalries. In the round of 16 First leg, Chelsea will face Bayern Munich in a repeat of 2012 final, while defending champions Liverpool will clash against Atletico Madrid.

 

The first match in the round of 16 will be played between Borussia Dortmund alongside Paris Saint-Germain, whereas defending champions Liverpool are still the favorites for the 2019-2020 UEFA champions league and will try to reclaim their crown.

Even with the crushing trio of Sadio Mane, Mohammad Salah and Roberto Firmino, the road is not going to be easy for the champions, with Athletico’s defensive solidity and strong physical side, it will be a real challenge for Liverpool at Wanda Metropolitano.

Paris Saint-Germain going to Germany to face Dortmund will also be a battle to keep your eyes on, with the in form of Erling Braut Haaland, alongside Neymar, who is craving to return in form after long injuries. This would be a classic champions league clash.

 

The winner of  4 major trophies in last 3 season, Guardiola is still missing the major champions league trophy in the Manchester city cabinet, After getting 2-year ban from Champions league this year would be crucial for pep to retrieve trust from the chairman, this could also be the last season for Guardiola if they fail to win the champions league title. Chelsea against Bayern Munich always reminds us of the one of the best champions league final played in Munich in 2012. Chelsea was struggling in the premier league on the 6th spot and had some major injuries. They were not the favourites for the title race, but with stunning performances by Didier Drogba and Peter Cech, they won the Champions league. Tottenham has had  inconsistent performances in the Premier League despite of  beating Manchester city. Spurs against RB Leipzig would be a very difficult match to predict. Despite an embarrassing 7-2 home defeat against Bayern, Leipzig is in the top 2 of the Bundesliga currently, standing one point away from Bayern. 

 

In the group stage Leipzig were unbeaten on the road, winning 2-1 at Benfica and 2-0 away to Zenit, before drawing 2-2 in Lyon. Therefore, this would be a very tricky match to give any prediction.

Since the joining of Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus look more confident and powerful with their counter-attacking alongside Pablo Dybala and a strong Italian defense. The Juventus team look positive to compete for the title race.
